The Odd Couple:
ReplyDeleteFor my first film review, I watched The Odd Couple, with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. Both of these actors did an excellent job of conveying unlikely friends, with Matthau’s character, Oscar, being a carefree slob and Lemmon’s character, Felix, as a high-strung neat freak. Both actors’ approaches were mostly physical, as was the humor used throughout most of the movie. Both actors were completely committed to their roles, and gave their characters different quirks, such as Lemmon’s constant cleaning and need for control, and Matthau’s sloppy habits. The actors were so committed that some scenes barely seemed scripted, such as the scene in the beginning where Matthau brings food to his friends and ends up throwing potato chips all over his apartment. Overall, I liked the movie because it almost seemed like it was entirely improvised. The actors were all quick, witty, interesting, and the complete polar opposites of eachother.
Sense & Sensibility:
ReplyDeleteThe second film I watched was Sense and Sensibility, where Kate Winslet and Emma Thompson were the two main characters. Winslet played a free-spirited girl, named Marianne Dashwood, who wanted to break the traditional ‘proper’ mold. She yearned for a life more like one in a Shakespeare novel, and wanted true love as opposed to just liking a person and enjoying their company. Thompson plays an obliging girl, Elinor Dashwood, who—as opposed to wanting to break the molds as Marianne did—wanted to conform to them. They played two sisters who had just lost their father to a disease, and only inherited a small amount of his fortune, as opposed to his first son, who inherited his estates and the rest of his money. They both lose their home to their half-brother and his wife, Fanny, played by Harriet Walter. Walter does an excellent job as the ‘villain’ of the movie, and from the moment she enters the screen, she gives an heir of arrogance and cold-heartedness. Winslet, Thompson, their younger sister and their mother all end up living with their eccentric cousin and his loud mother-in-law, John Middleton and Mrs. Jennings. Though Mrs. Jennings sometimes asks questions that the others believe to be out of line, she means well, and remains a loving character through the movie. She isn’t afraid to tell it like it is, and is constantly there for her friends. Hugh Dancy, who plays the love interest of Emma Thompson, remains likeable and slightly carefree while still remaining proper by the standards of those around him. Though he plays a minor character, Hugh Laurie steals almost every scene he’s in with dry humor, sarcasm and an utter hatred of his wife, the bubbly daughter of Mrs. Jennings, played by Imelda Staunton. Greg Wise, as John Willoughby, was likeable only to Winslet’s character, and displayed conceit and discrimination. Alan Rickman plays Christopher Brandon, a man who seems to truly love Winslet’s character from the beginning. You can tell that he’s jealous of Willoughby and how Winslet only has eyes for him, and that he feels constantly overshadowed by Willoughby. You immediately feel sympathy for him. The actors and actresses in this movie were all completely committed to their characters, which made them all extremely believable to the point where I felt as if I were watching someones actual life.
Big
ReplyDeleteMy first review was for the movie Big. In the movie Big, Tom Hanks plays Josh Baskin, a thirteen year old boy who wishes he was big on the magic wish booth at a carnival. The next morning, Josh wakes up in his home as an adult. He then looks for help from Billy, his best friend and next door neighbor, played by Jared Rushton. Luckily, Billy has money saved up and gets Josh a motel room to stay at since he couldn’t stay at home. Josh found a job at a big toy company and landed himself a position to create toys. This was probably because he seemed so much like a child to Paul, who was the president of the company, played by John Heard. He also got himself into a romantic relationship with someone who works at the factory, Susan, played by Elizabeth Perkins. Eventually, Josh realizes that he just isn’t ready to be big just yet. He tracks down the exact wish booth he had wished on before, and soon he is thirteen again. I feel that Tom Hanks took his role as Josh very seriously. Even though Tom Hanks is obviously “Big,” physically, he was acting just like a child would mentally and emotionally. He really made you think he was a thirteen year old boy trapped in the thirty year old man’s body. I feel that the scene with the big piano in the giant toy store was a really good scene; it showed that Josh was a little kid and not a man the most out of any other scene. I also liked how he convinced Billy he was who he was by doing their secret handshake. I feel that Tom Hanks had a huge commitment to the role he was playing because he never acted anything but what he was as his character: a little boy in a grown man’s body.

ReplyDeleteForest Gump
ReplyDeleteforest gump is about a man from alabama with a very low IQ of 75. it follows him through a bunch of the biggest things to happen in american history around that time. it also follows his own adventures as he keeps trying to be with the girl he loves jenny. tom hanks played the role great i mean he did with the academy award for it. he played the character perfectly for a while if you really could believe that he was that simple of a guy. for the character tom hanks made up everything the voice the way he walks talks and does everything and it was a really great. and wat was really cool was that even though the character of forest gump had gone through so many things and became a hero a celebrity and a shrimpin boat captain and was a zillionaire he still kept his simplicity and acted like a regular guy and that was the cool part about him and tom hanks played it great.
ForRest Gump
ReplyDeleteForRest Gump is about a man named ForRest(Tom Hanks) who lived in the south. He fell in love with a girl named Jenny (Robin Wright) who would do nothing but lead him on and off again throughout his life. After high school, Forrest found Jenny yet again, and despite the fact that she lead him on, he later found out she was dating someone else. this broke his heart and he began to run. once he got to where he was running to, he figured why stop now? this is where the movie's famous line "Run, Forest, Run!" came from. in the end, he finds Jenny, and they have sex, however, Jenny left him again. In the end of the movie, he finds Jenny, dying. she tells him that she has had his child, and named him Forrest, he was already about 4 years old. The movie ends with Jenny passing away, and Forrest taking care of his child, whom Jenny named Forrest. I think that Tom Hanks was an amazing actor in this movie, because he followed the script, and acted the character, but also made Forrest his own person. Hanks made the audience cry, laugh, and smile with the character. I didn't like how they portrayed Jenny in the movie, Although Forrest loved her, the way she acted and the way she constantly hurt Forrest made me not like her at all.
Philadelphia:
ReplyDeletePhiladelphia stars tom hanks, who plays a business man named Andrew Beckett , whos very sucessful. He has a good career as a lawyer who worked for very conservative lawyers and his life is going great. but then one of his employers sees a bruise on his neck and asks what it is. Andy lies about it and gets on with the party he's at. It turns out he is gay and infected with the AIDS virus. His boyfiend, Antonio Banderas, is worried about him as his health slowly decreases. Then he is fired after one of his employers allegedly framed him. Then Denzel Washington, Who plays homo phobe Joe miller, another lawyer who eventually is intrigued by andy's case and takes it. as the trial against his employer's progrsses, his health rapidly decreases. he dies at the end of the movie from AIDS. I think Tom hanks did an excellent job getting into this character, and so did Densel washington. Tom bhanks did a good job of portraying the sucessful gay business man, while denzel washington did a good job portraying a homophobic lawyer who realizes the error of his ways. The both made the characters come alive and made the characters personalties fresh and interesting. I liked how they made tom hanks gay when he so clearly is not, and how antonio baderas played a hot gay guy too, i think if that were true fans ever where would die alittle. Anyway, it is an excellent, thought provoking movie.
Schindlers list
ReplyDeleteThe acting in this movie was and had to be very emotional and intense due to the fact that it deals with such a horrible and memorable event. In both perspectives, the actors were very beleivable in that it was real life. The Nazi soldiers had to be very cruel, mean, and ruthless. This is very challenging to get angry and plan violence against another on camera. They have to stay completely in character so that you get the full effect of how harshly the Jews were treated. Also, the victims had to act scared, traumatized, and lonely. to be nervous and afraid throughout the whole story is also hard. You cannot for a second act like everything is okay or not a big deal because it was. Some techniques the soldiers used was shooting, screaming orders, pushing, and not having a pleasant body structure and body movement. They had strict orders from Hitler to obey, and thats all that they cared about. Completing what they were sent to do. On the other end, they had to be contained to themselves, scrunch up, cry, try to run away, and seem very weak and unsure. They had to seem like this was the worst possible thing that has ever happened, and for them it was. They felt like they could never be saved from this horror.
The Odd Couple
ReplyDeleteI watched this movie because me and Dana's scene is this movie. Im not sure exactly what their names are in the movie but i will use the ones from the skit which are Florence(the neat one) and Olive(the sloppy one). I really understood both sides of the approach. It is not good to be completely one of the other, but it is funny to see how the two different personalities butt heads. I personally would love to have a Florence living with me to keep my house and room clean. On the other side, i like being layed back and relaxing every so often. I think its entertaining to see how they fight with each other. They were completely great friends when they did not live together, but all of a sudden when Florence moves in, all things go downhill. Instead of being reasonable and work it out, they are both arrogant and don't compromise. Both characters have to show complete disagreement with each other the entire time and not cave. Throughout the scene, Florence was cleaning and tidying up, while Olive was making everything a mess and dirtying it up. Techniques used by Florence were spraying windex and vacuum cleaning. Olive showed his role by throwing the linguini at the wall, putting his feet on the table, and throwing his clothes everywhere. They are sarcastic and rude to each other. They run and chase each other and shout mean stuff. At the end after Olive kicks him out he trys to take it back but its too late. THey both have to be upset with each other and come clase to hurting each other with words and also physically. THey both are strong headed and think that only they are able to win.
the godfather
ReplyDeletein my opinion it is one of the best moves ever made. the acting is phenomenal and the story moves so well. Marlon Brando did an amazing job as his character Don Vito Corleone. he played it so well and really made the character his own. we followed him from a simple beginging and saw him rise to the top of the mob world to become Don Corleone. also in a great acting performance was Al Pacino who played Don Corleones son Michael Corleone. both characters where great especially when makeing a threat of some kind because when watching them you could see in intensity in there performance and it sometimes id get real into it and even tho ive seen the movie plenty of times the way they speak the lines and the way they act makes me think its going to turn out different. both of their performances were very well performed and because of the great acting from those two power houses i always enjoy that movie
Big with Tom Hanks is a movie I have enjoyed watching ever since I was little. In the begining of the movie all Josh (played by Tom Hanks) wants to do is grow up. One night at a carnival he wishes to be big and the next day he wakes up a grown man. Startled by the sudden transformation he is lost once he gets thrown out of his house because his mom does not recognize him. All he has to turn to is his best friend where they think up a plan how he can survive as a man. The consistency of remaining being a kid as he changes into a mans body was played very good by Tom Hanks. I love when he goes to his apartment and it is filled with toys and the trampoline. He brings out the kid in everyone he mets at work. The girl he starts to like loves his refreshing young personality. I love the part when he takes her to his house and they are playing with all the toys he has and jumping on his trampoline. It was werid to see adults like playing with toys but Tom Hanks made it look so natural. In the end Tom realizes that being big isnt as much fun and games as he thought. He is know aware he isnt ready to be big and he doesnt want to miss out on the time he still has left being a child. I love the moral of the movie to not rush growing up and to enjoy all the time you have being a kid as you can. A lot of people are always looking ahead but its important to enjoy the time that your in now. I feel bad for Susan, the girl that he likes, because they cant be together once he changes back to being a kid. When they find the exact wishing machine from the carnival its good by for now to the Big Josh.
ReplyDeleteForest Gump is an amazing movie. I watched it in social studies class during ninth grade and I've loved it ever since. Tom Hanks plays Forest Gump amazingly if thats a word and I love going to Bumba Gumps in the city. Anyway, its amazing all the stories and experiences Tom Hanks has gone through. When he was younger he had braces on his legs and couldnt walk and there is a scene where Elvis Presley and Forest are dancing and that is where Elvis got his moves by the way Forest would dance in his braces. One day Jenny and Forest were running away from bullies and it was hard for Forest to run and all Jenny kept saying was "Run Forest Run" and he breaks out of his braces and he is running like a maniac without them fine. He played football and he was an amazing player. He got to meet the president because he was on the all american team. He also met another president cause he got a purple heart in the army for being shot in the but. The last time he met the presdient was for being an extremely good ping pong player. Miracle after miracle Forest goes through and it makes me upset when Jenny upsets him. I love this movies and my favorite line is whne Forest mom goes "Lives a box of chocolates". The movie is so inspirational and it touched me to live life to the fullest
ReplyDeleteThe Shawshank Redemption
ReplyDelete"The Shawshank Redemption" is the story about a guy named Andy, played by Morgan Freeman, who is sentenced to lifelong imprisonment for killing his wife, though he
did not do it. Freeman does an awesome job with staying in this character and he is able to create a new character for the audience. He uses certain techniques throughout
the whole movie that charcterize Andy and that he keeps repeating. For example, he furrows his brows and closes his eyes just a tiny bit which makes his face look sad
and thoughtful. In fact, his character is very thoughtful and withdrawn. His voice supports that because he talks very calm and quiet. In the scenes where he gets beat up or
where the policeman almost throws him off the roof, his fear seems authentic, it appears real and very convincing. He is shaking physically as well as his voice is shaking.
Further, his gestures always match his mimic. His shoulders are hanging down and his motion is stiff to emphasize that the prison is not the right place for him and that he
shoul not be there. In all the scenes in the library etc where his education is shown, he wears glasses to emphasize that he is a smart man, and his face is very serious. My
favorite part of the movie is when he gets out of the pipe. His expression on his face evokes a lot of emotion. It is full of exhaution but at the same time also full of redemption
- he is finally free. He rips his shirt of and holds his arms up - a gesture of redemption and thankfulness. It is also the first time when he really laughs, which also sounds
very authentic. Altogether I think Freeman did a really good job in playing his role completely authentic and believable.
Rain Man
The second movie I watched was "Rain Man" where Dustin Hoffman plays a man who has autism. I couldn't even believe how authentic he plays this role! He stays in his role all the time and really makes us believe that he is this autistic, pathetic guy. He is so convincing in all he does that you wouldn't doubt that he is really challenged if you didn't know. I think he was able to do so because he actually became this person while acting, in the way he moves, talks, acts. He always has this silly expression on his face, and he never looks anybody directly in the eyes. He talks mechanically, very repetitive, and almost robotic, listing numbers, facts, and all different kind of memorized things.Sometimes he also mumbels a little bit so that it looks as if he was rather talking to himself than to anybody around him. To all that, he sometimes even stotters a llittle bit when he wants to explain something. He also moves in a funny way, very stiff, the same way he sits straight. He always keeps moving, does something with his hands, and his head is always a little tilted. When he stands or sits, he keeps his legs together, and he is always stepping from one foot to the other. He gets nervous when somebody come too close to him or when he is supposed to do something that isn't like his familiar routine. Even his unexpected screaming then sound authentic. All those little things Hoffman does repetetively throughout the whole movie create his character and make him really become this charackter. However, he does not make fun of autism or anything. He rather makes us feel more emathy with those people. I think it is one of the biggest challenges an actor can face, and Dustin Hoffman managed it with an unbelievable authenticity.
sorry, I don't know what happened with the text...I didn't do it ;)

ReplyDeleteMkay, so Philadelphia was one of the most heart wrenching movies I ever saw. The two main parts are played by Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington (Love). The story is basically about a man called Andrew Beckett who gets fired from his job just because he's a homosexual man. He asks a lawyer Joe Miller to represent him, but he refuses because he's scared of getting AIDS from him. The whole story tells about opening up to other people, and to not judge by who you are. Tom Hanks does such a good job in this movie, and absolutely makes me cry every time I see it. He gave the audience a very emotional length to go on, and he also let out a big message to the world about judging people. Washington also shows great acting by growing fonder of Hanks and gets passed his homosexuality to find the real person. The techniques of the actors very serious and sad. They do this to really make the audience think about how they view people just based on what they look like, or what they appear to be, or what they believe in. Hanks and Washington were 100 percent committed to the roles and made this movie an excellent performance.
ReplyDeleteForest Gump:
ReplyDeleteUgh, don't get me started on this movie.
BEST. MOVIE. EVER.
I mean, I love Tom Hanks in most movies, but this ones the best. The film in general is amazing beacuse this kid who looked like he could be nothing, got all these amazing things and met all these amazing people. All the little puns that happened (Elvis, Bubba Gump, smily face shirts, shit happens bumper sticker) Are all amazing. The love between Jenny and Forrest is so cute when they're children. And even though Jenny doesn't love him/want to marry him throughout the movie, you know its bound to happen anyway because they kept running into each other. Hanks really gets you into the movie, making you laugh one secound, and then making you cry the next. The most amazing part of the movie is the end, when his son is carrying the book, just like Forrest did in the beginning. I started crying. :D.
But, anyway, Tom Hanks made me laugh, cry, gasp, get angry, get excited, get confused ALL in an hour. Thats some serious skill. Once again Hanks is going for the emotional aspect of the film, and heck! It works!

ReplyDelete1st one: Forest Gump
ReplyDeleteThis Movie always makes me have full emotions every time i watch it. Tom Hanks really can get into character and bring it to life no matter what role he has to take on. In Forest Gump he plays the guy Forest, who is not really all there. Every time there is a scene with Forest and his friend jenny, who we all know he likes, i feel like they were meant to be even though she plays it off as if she doesnt like him but we all know that they should be together because of their interaction with each other. When he was younger, he had braces on his legs which prevented him from running normally. than one day there were bullies who were bulling him, he tried running away from him and eventually all of his braces had broken off and jenny kept saying "run forest run" with a little accent. I will probably always and always use the saying "run forest run" when ever the timing is right, because 1. it will make me laugh and think about it and 2 because its such a great scene that if i connect it with something in real life, it goes to show that Tom Hanks really does an outstanding job. I seriously think that i had a little bit of every emotion whether i was laughing, or crying, shocked or having that feeling of wanting more during the movie, great pick sunny ! :]
Deer Hunter-
ReplyDeleteThis movie was fantasic, it had everything to keep me interested. Many of the scenes gave different emotion. Robert De Niro was great in this film because had such great emotion and pushed him self as a soldier and you to be in character throughout the film as he goes back to get his friend and his friend ends up killing himself in front of him.
Forest Gump-
Tom Hanks was great. Run forest run! He had to play a mentally challenged person and really had to look into how he should act.

ReplyDeleteForest Gump:
ReplyDeleteThis was one of the best, most beautiful movies I have ever seen. Tom Hanks does an excellent job of protraying the character of forrest gump. It tells of his life from his childhood to his adulthood. He befriended a girl named Jenny who was being sexually abused by her dad, and formed a lifelong love for her. Forrest wasn't like other people though ,he was a little slow. When he got older, the other guys would try to beat him up and he started to run. From this, he became a football player. He eventually left the team and he still thought about Jenny. She was in college and with another man. Then he went with his black friend, which was taboo for the time he was in, bubba gump, into the vietnam war. After fighting there for monthes, The troop forrest was in was attacked. He saved all of his fsllen commerades while also looking for bubba. Then he saved his commander, leutenant dan, from death and saved bubba. he died in his arms. Sfter that forrest got an award from the president and found jenny again. She was a hippie and a drug addict. Her boyfriend hit her in front of forrest, and forrest attacked him. Now, so i wont go on and on, fast forward a bit to the end, it was so beautiful but sooo sad! Icant believe she died. Tom hanks does a good job portraying forrest's greif and his ability to portay the character's personality so well.

ReplyDeletethe first movie i watched was forest gump. anything with tom hanks is amazing but this movie really pushed him above and beyond to really put himself into his character. the movie was amazing and really pulled many different emotions out of me. it made me laugh and cry and feel angry. he truly commited himself to the role and researching and understanding how to play the conditions his character was under.
ReplyDeleteWhat's Eating Gilbert Grape?
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite movies one because any Johnny Depp movie is AMAZING! and also because it is just such an amazing movie. the acting is incredible. it tell the story of Gilbert Grape(Depp) who must take care of is mentally challenged brother, arnie, because his mother is extremely obese and remains a recluse due to her weight. along side depp in the movie is leonardo dicaprio who plasy arnie. although dicaprio is only 19 in this movie, he does an incredibly believeable job in portraying a mentally challenged child. his manorisms are spot on and the way in which he speaks is too. he truely commited 110% to his role which makes such a great actor. this is truely a great movie that i recommend to all.
Finding Neverland
ReplyDeleteMuch like Gilbert Grape, Finding Neverland is also a favorite movie of mine. it tells the story of j.m.barry(johnny depp), the playwrite of peter pan, who meets a single mother and her boys in the park. depp and the boys become playmates, embarking on countless journeys through their imaginations. depp must take on the role oh james barry, a grown man who has the imagination of a young child, but at the same time is a regular, mature man. to play a man that (in a way) has two different personalities is a hard task because from scene to scene depp had to change his outlook on the plot of the movie from child to adult.
Rent: Filmed Live On B'way
ReplyDeleteThis is the real verson of RENT. This shows the story of 7 artists and their it show their storys. The acting in it is amazing. Their people's faces are so funny. The person who plays Angel is really good.I think that he is much better than the oriningal. It was so armazing that i cried and laughted. The closing cast of rent will always stay in my heart.
Their stage presence was really well. They looked so perfesonal. They didn't mess up on one note. They stated in character the whole time. To me, I feel that each person was really confertedbul with one another.
Phantom Of the Opera Play.
ReplyDeleteI loved this play. It was so sad that i cryed. it is about a man who is deformed falls in love with an opera singer. It shows the difficult chose that she has to make. The acting in it was amazing. The music is what brings life to the show. I love the opening scence when Rhoul plays an old man. It took me show long to figer out that it was him. He really did make the character come to life. The main lead of Phantom was amazing. He never broke character and was very emoiomal with a hint of murderer. Christen really upset me because when she was sing the last note of "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" she messed up but continued to carry on like nothing ever happened. As a really big theater jeek I really recomend that you see this play.
Forest Gump:
ReplyDeleteI've been told for quite some time to see this movie, and I finally did. Throughout watching the movie I thought to myself "Wow I feel really dumb for never watching this movie before". It's fantastic, simply fantastic. I know everyone is saying this about the movie, but it's true, I mean its the only way to aptly describe this movie; fantastic. It's simply a telling of the life of Forest and all the things he does along the way. From exposing the watergate scandal to giving Elvis his "dance". Forest Gump helps a lot of people with their lives simply by being his naive, innocent and sometimes ignorant self. In the movie he has an on/off girlfriend Jenny who was his childhood friend but keeps leaving him throughout his life. I didnt really care for her, just becuase she was being a jerk to Forest, but they finally get toether in the end so thats pretty good. Tom Hanks acting is great (which is typical), I just love the characterization of Forest Gump though. He's just this simple guy who's only concerned about the present, not clouding his head with anything...unnecessary I suppose. This is mostly due to his mental condition, but he's a great character to watch nonetheless. So yeah its a superb movie, great watch, yada yada yada....and thats all I have to say about that.
Philidelphia:
Continuing on my Tom Hanks's spree I say Philidelphia. This is the simple story of a man who has aids (Tom Hanks) and believes he got fired from his job becuase of his disease and his sexual orientation (which is gay, as revealed through the disease). He asks a lawyer (Denzel Washington, I think) to take his case. Reluctant at first he eventuallyy agrees and learns a lot about another kind of world out there. He goes to Hank's characters parties and realizes that homosexuals are people too, and that the publics misunderstanding of them is just ignorance mostly. I think Antonio Banderas (i think thats how you spell it) is Tom Hank's partner, so thats an interesting cameo. Very different from puss in boots from Shrek 2. Anyway, overall it was a very interesting movie with a great cast of characters. It had a nicce underlying message and a nice theme. I'd recommend it definitely, but I was bored during some parts, I kinda figured the ending pretty soon and that ruined it a bit for me. It's like knowing mufasa's going to die in the Lion King, or that King Kong dies, it just kinda ruins it. Anyway....I'm going to find a new Tom Hanks movie to watch.
the second movie i watched was whats eating gilbert grape?
ReplyDeletethis is the most amazing movie ive ever seen. johnny depp and leonardo decaprio have amazing chemistry and really do a wonderful job at portraying brothers with one of them being mentally challenged. johnny depp takes the unfortunate role of gilbert, the older brother that had to take over the family after the death of his father. he meets a girl that he absolutly falls for who really helps arnie (decaprio) pull out of his shell. gilbert has to take care of arnie at all times not only because he has to be the man of the family but also because his mother is insanly overweight to the point that she has not walked in years. this movie is heartbreaking and inspiring and totally worth watching
Forest Gump:
ReplyDeleteReally, I think it's the most amazing movie I've ever seen. Im a fan of Tom Hanks and I think he did an outstanding job in this film. He made me laugh, cry, smile all throughout the movie. He stuck to the role and really brought the character Forest Gump to life. It really touched me and kind of inspired me to do whatever. I didn't like the way Jenny treated him in some of the scenes, it seemed she was leading him on at times, then just threw him aside, but she made the movie more interesting, i think. It was amazing.
Deer Hunter-
ReplyDeleteThis movie was fantasic, it had everything to keep me interested. Many of the scenes gave different emotion. From begining with the wedding i was laughing with there drunk idiot ways, to nervous and excited with the first war clip, to scared with the 'game' the koreans played. In the begining after the wedding all the guys went out on a deer hunting trip and it showed how close these guys really were with eachother. I felt like this was a very important sence in the film becasue as the war starts and injurys occur it breaks your heart to see them struggle and be separated. Robert De Niro was great in this film because had such great emotion and pushed him self as a soldier and you to be in character throughout the film as he goes back to get his friend and his friend ends up killing himself in front of him. This film was amazing. Along with great acting it also had great war sences that were very accurate. This was a fantasic film.
Forest Gump-
ReplyDeleteThis movie was just great. Tom Hanks performance was great. He really committed himself to his role and played it great. He was a guy named forest that just looked foward and not in the past. Becasue of his mental condition i felt like it made a better storyline, of him helping people with being honest (even if the honest wasn't always the nicest thing to do) and him with his on and off girlfreind from his childhood jenny. This film also grabbed me from the begining with the different emotions it made me feel. From exciting with him just running through the jungle saving his men, and at the end re-uniting with jenny. Simply a great movie.
