Reflect on your final monologue/exam for this class. Explain your process and the final product produced. How have you evolved as an actor through this class? Be specific.
this was hard for me to do since it was a serious monologue and im not a serious guy in anyway. plus it was mad long so it was tough memorizing it. i think ive evolved as an actor as im able to do more then just be funny i can be serious too which is helpful cause not all roles are fun some are serious. so now that i know i can be serious i can do those kinds of roles
my monologue was very easy for me to memorize cause im good at memorizing and it was really short. I stayed in one spot the whole time though so i should have moved around and tried to do more physical things. In the begining of the year i felt awkward and out of place on the stage. This time i felt more comfortable and able to experiment more. It was a very random monologue and it didnt really have a point but i liked it because it kept jumping from subject to subject. I am not very good at being funny and serious is very hard also
At first I thought the monologue was going to be impossible to memorize but it wasn't as bad as I thought. I felt very comfortable performing it. Right before I went on I was really nervouss and then I realized I was nervous for nothing. I liked how my monologue was a girl bugging out because its pretty easy for me to act that out. I think as performer I have come a long way. I have been dancing, cheering, and singing for years but this is the first time I ever did acting so it was a new type of performing I wasnt use to. I think I adjusted to it and become a lot more confident on stage. I was uneasy about staying with the class in the beginning of the semester because I felt out of place but I'm glad I stuck with it I learned a lot and it was really fun.
my monologue was really hard for me to memroize, but not at the same time. it's hard to explain. i would practice memorizing it by rehearsing it in my room, in front of a mirror.
when i got onto the stage, i was happy i could have people up there with me, even though i would be the only one speaking. i felt that i kept my attitude constant, and i showed good emotion. i did begin to panic when i forgot my lines, but i finished in one piece.
I've liked my monologue since I first picked it out. It wasn't that hard to memorize even though i spaced out a few times but i was easily able to pick it right back up. I kept the mood that my character was upset, confused, and a little angry. I think that i have evolved as an actor this semester because when I first got up on stage, I was nervous and excited at the same time, more nervous though. Now that is the end of the year and semester, I feel like I am able to get up on stage and not worry what other people will think if I mess up or something. I think I have grown from being in the class and I'm glad I got to experience it with my other classmates.
I had so much fun with my final monologue, as with every thing we did in this acting class!!!
My monologue wasn’t that long and I don’t have trouble with memorizing anyway, so this wasn’t a problem at all. Instead, I was working more on how I was going to perform it. I was trying to find spots where it would be good to make a pause, and I was thinking about gestures and facial expressions that would fit and the right voice for my character. I was pretty satisfied with my final performance. Especially, I had so much fun on stage!!!
I was almost surprised that I didn’t break character at all. This is definitely one thing that I was able to improve in this class. I was also able to improve my improvising skills. I realized that these helped me a lot for my script performance as well. As an actress I was able to acquire many new skills. I learned that as actress it is important to take risks and to emphasize everything you are doing.
I tried to pick a monolouge that seemed sort of out there for me. I had alot of fun with my monologue. I had no trouble memorizing it really just mixing up lines here and there but on stage i got it right! To prepare, i watched a lot of tina fey skits from SNL which helped get facial expressions and voice/attitude changes down. I thought that this was a very funny piece and having the seven girls up on stage as ther girlfriends i thought helped out the performance. Over all, i was satisfied with my performance. I thought that it went very well and i got good feedback from the class.
As an actor, i feel like i have improved a lot. For one, i was never very good at improv so this class definately helped out a lot with that. Also, when i used to act, i did musicals and i focused on singing and acting at the same time so this was a good way to just focus on acting and improve apon it. I'm so excited for next year in advanced!!
i really had fun with it and i liked doing it. im not very religous now, but when i was younger i was. so it was easy just to assume my former self. i did forget a line buti tried my best to stay in character. i really wanted to do advanced but.... i was too late unfortunatley
I had fun doing my monolouge. The character was a complete opposite of me so it was interesting how people would react to it. Also i found it hard trying to stay in character the hole time because my character was completely different than me. I presented my monolouge in front of my parents before the class and i felt a different comfortability around them then the class. In the class i felt like i can say or do whatever and just act. I had a lot of fun in this class this year, and met a lot of new people. yay acting!!
I loved doing my monolouge. I didn't really have a hard time memorizing it I just kept saying over and over. I really wish the whole class was there when i performed it but I think the final outcome was really good. I got the reaction that i wanted. I think as a performer I have grown. I wasn't shy at all when we first started. I wanted to learn more about acting and i did. I learned to take more risks and I think that I did.
I wasn't nervous about doing my monologue, and I thought that I'd had it memorized, but when I had to present, I could not remember the first paragraph of my monologue at ALL! Once I got past the first few lines I felt much more comfortable, though. I didn't really think that I did my monologue as well as I thought I would, but I still feel as if I've grown as an actress, and I'm not afraid of going on stage anymore!
my monologue was very fun and easy for me. it was a funny piece where i was able to use and interact with my classmates. when i was up there it was a nice easy flow and i was able to just go wih it. i had a lot of fun portraying such an insane and crazy character. she was wild and hysterical and i enjoy parts like that. i would have liked to do more monologues this year.
My monologue was funny and a fun character to play. THis was a change for me because I normally play serious roles or I am assigned serious parts.I enjoyed learning abouta nd challenging my comedic side. This project really showed me how much I have improved this year by my being able to portray a character so different from my norm and so oppisite my own personality.
